Matt and Carmen Corradino, Caribbean
This husband and wife duo are instructors in primitive skills at Tom Brown Jr.’s Tracking, nature, and Wilderness Survival School. They have extensive experience in outdoor skills, having lived in a primitive shelter for over six years while teaching at the school… yes, even through the New Jersey winter!!
They live on the Caribbean island of St. Croix which they love and hope to share its beauty with others. They’ve been teaching classes in tropical primitive skills and wilderness survival since 2008 and in the course of doing so, decided to move to the island. With their combined experience in the outdoors they hope to offer a deeper understanding of the nature of the island to both tourists and locals alike.
Their camp is predominantly off grid and they want to be able to provide people with a place to stay that supports smart choices for the environmental and cultural health of the island. They are constantly striving towards true sustainability in the way they live and interact with people and the world around them.
When they are not teaching or spending time as a family, they can be found out in the surf or at one of the islands reggae festivals.
